Windochine's signature design is 'Bamboo Silk', an ultra thin, sheer open weave bamboo scrim made from hand-selected bamboo, split to nearly hair-like fineness, and woven by hand. Each bamboo filament is individually fed into the loom. Finishes include natural tree-resin lacquer in nutmeg and ebony, also carefully hand-applied. Drawing from the bamboo screening traditions of ancient Japan and China, this novel adaptation enhances windows, walls, and transition spaces, creating a sensibility that deftly blends East and West.
